Biography
Andrii Bondarenko, Doctor of Engineering Sciences (D.Sc. Tech.), is a Professor at Dnipro University of Technology, Ukraine.
His scientific work spans theoretical and applied research, engineering design, and technological development across mining, mineral transportation, mineral processing, and the recycling of industrial, mining, construction, and demolition waste. His research focuses on developing and validating technologies for the integrated mining of sedimentary and technogenic mineral deposits through open-pit and underwater methods. Additionally, he contributes to designing complex systems for mineral processing, enrichment, washing, sludge management, and enterprise water recycling.
A distinctive feature of Prof. Bondarenko’s work is its close integration with industrial enterprises, enabling the rapid commercial implementation of scientific developments. Under his scientific supervision and active participation, over 60 engineering and design projects have been successfully completed. These include operational projects for mining enterprises, crushing, sorting, and washing plants, quarry drainage systems, water supply infrastructure, and facilities for the accumulation and recycling of mineral sludge and industrial waste.
Prof. Bondarenko is the author of numerous innovative technological and engineering developments implemented in industrial practice. Notable achievements include gravity washing and sorting plants, as well as jet pump dredgers designed for tropical ("Africa") and temperate ("Europe") climatic configurations, actively used for mineral extraction and dredging in Liberia and Ukraine. His portfolio also includes bar screens for hydraulic classification, high-capacity jet pumps (up to 1000 m³/h), hydraulic classifiers for de-sludging and enrichment, processing technologies for marine pebble-shell mixtures, and zero-waste landfill recycling systems for stone-processing enterprises.
Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Prof. Bondarenko has authored over 250 scientific publications—including monographs, peer-reviewed journal articles, textbooks, reports, and patents. He actively integrates his research and engineering accomplishments into higher education, delivering lectures on mining machinery, hydromechanical mining, underwater extraction systems, and mineral processing across all academic levels.
