Biography

Nooshin Shakiba holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Birkbeck/ University of London and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from York University from Canada. She also holds an M.A. in General Linguistics and a B.A. in English Translation from Tehran/Iran. She also holds TESL Certificate, Methodology & Theory Instructor from Canada and TEFL Certificate, Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology. Her research interest includes emotion language, swearwords, political invective language, bi-/multilingualism, pragmatics, cross cultural communication, discourse studies, and the impact of sociolinguistic variables, acculturation, and personality trails on emotion language. Also, Intercultural Communication, language acquisition, teaching English as foreign and second language.
