Cookie Policy (EU)

1. What this policy covers

APID — the Academic Publishing and Information Database, operated by Consortium e-Learning Network Pvt Ltd — uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies on the website at https://apid.journalslibrary.com (the "Service"). This policy explains what each cookie does, how long it lasts, and your choices.

This Cookie Policy applies to residents of the European Economic Area and Switzerland and is written to meet the standards of the EU GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.

2. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On subsequent visits the browser sends it back, which is how the website remembers you between pages. We also use the term "cookie" below to refer to similar technologies such as local storage, where the behaviour is the same from your point of view.

3. Cookies we set

These are the cookies set directly by apid.journalslibrary.com. All are strictly necessary to run the Service: without them you cannot sign in, forms cannot be submitted, and the Service cannot keep you safe from cross-site attacks.

CookiePurposeExpires
sessionidKeeps you signed in between pages. Set only after you sign in.14 days
csrftokenPrevents cross-site request forgery when you submit a form.12 months
messagesCarries a one-time flash message from one page to the next (e.g. "Signed in" or "Please try again").Until the next page loads
gauth_nonceSet for 10 minutes while you are signing in with Google, to prevent sign-in CSRF. Deleted the moment the sign-in completes.10 minutes

None of these cookies carry an advertising identifier or share your activity with any advertising network. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar analytics or advertising cookies on this Service.

4. Cookies set by third parties

The Service is delivered through Cloudflare, which is a content-delivery network and bot-management layer. Cloudflare may set the following cookies on your browser:

CookieSet byPurposeExpires
__cf_bmCloudflareDistinguishes humans from bots to protect the Service from abuse.30 minutes
_cfuvidCloudflareAllows Cloudflare to apply rate limits to a single visitor across pages.Session

Cloudflare's handling of this data is described in its privacy policy.

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on accounts.google.com during the sign-in flow. Those cookies are set and read by Google, not by us; their handling is described in Google's privacy policy.

5. What we do not do

  • No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no cross-site retargeting.
  • No sale or sharing of personal information for advertising purposes.
  • No fingerprinting beyond what Cloudflare uses to tell humans apart from bots.

6. Managing cookies

Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary, there is no cookie-consent banner on this Service and nothing to opt out of in a dashboard — if you were offered the choice to refuse, the Service would stop working. You can nonetheless clear or block cookies in your browser's settings. Doing so will sign you out and may break form submissions.

7. Your rights

You have the rights set out in GDPR Articles 15–22, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority.

To exercise any right, write to [email protected] from the address on your APID account. We respond within 30 days. For a fuller description of our processing, read our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this policy

We will revise this policy as the Service changes. Material changes will be announced on the Service and dated at the top of this page.
