My Biography

Professor Selma Ergin is a member of the Faculty More of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Istanbul Technical University since 1993, and has been the head of Naval Architecture and Marine Eng. Dept. since 2022. Her recent research is focused on the emission control of ships, alternative fuels, underwater noise, fire safety and energy efficiency. She has published over 80 journal and refereed conference papers in these areas. Professor Ergin is also the director of Ship Emission Laboratory. She was a member of the editorial board of IMechE Part M: Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment from 2010 to 2018 and has been one of the associate editors for the same journal since 2019.
