My Biography

Dr. Subhasis Roy is working as Assistant Professor More at Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Calcutta, India. Dr. Roy received Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 2012. Before joining as a faculty member at Calcutta University, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, Research Scientist at IISER, Kolkata, and worked as a visiting researcher Raman Fellow, Ohio University. Dr. Roy has published more than 65 scientific research papers in peer-reviewed journals and 22 conference proceedings. He has 18 book chapters to his credit and acted as editor for 2 books and filed several patents. Dr. Roy was awarded DST-Fast Track Young Scientist, Teachers Associateship for Research Excellence (TARE) award by SERB and Mission innovation MI IC#5′ DBT-DST joint funding, – DST. He holds membership of many professional societies such as Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), National Academy of Sciences, India (MNASc), Fellow of Indian Chemical Society (FICS), Linnean Society of London (FLS)and reviewers as well as editorial board member of many international journals. His expertise is in waste management and recycling, perovskite solar cells, multiferroic composite thin films, photocatalysts for water splitting, fuel cells, and hydrogen energy.

Hello everyone, I am presently working as Professor at School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Atmiya Read More University, Rajkot, Gujarat, India. My major research areas are pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, pharmacology, development of herbal drug formulation. Three Ph D students registered under me who are presently working in different domains such as antidiabetic, immunomodulator and anticancer herbal drugs. I have guided 7 projects of UG students under SSIP (Student start up and Innovation Policy) scheme of Gujarat Government. I have selected as Mentor in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) at AICTE, New Delhi to guide two interns for their project works. I am very interested to guide students in various research areas such as evidence based studies on traditionally used drugs and formulation as well as development of herbal drug formulations.
