My Biography

Graduated in Medicine (1982). Specialized in: More Pediatrics; Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy; Internal Medicine. I have served as a Hospital Doctor in Modena (1988-2023). I was judged fit as a Full Professor in Gastroenterology and Associate Professor in Internal Medicine at the National University Examination (2017-2023). Over the last 25 years I have been working on the relationship between insulin resistance, the metabolic syndrome, and NAFLD. I have finished more than 1,000 certified Reviews and taken more than 200 editorial decisions. I am the founding Editor and Editor-in.Chief of “Metabolism and Target Organ Damage” and Section Editor of “Metabolites”.
