My Biography

Engaged in teaching and research in the Department More of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh since 1998. My research interest is to study the quantitative characters of a population obtained through breeding procedures and evaluating their inheritance pattern by applying biometrical genetic methodology and also study of their genetic control at the molecular level. I have supervised M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. thesis at graduate and post-graduate levels and carried out a number of research project. Published a book entitle “Biometrical Techniques of Quantitative Traits’ at amazon.com. I have published 66 research articles in different reputed journals in home and abroad. Dr. Uttam Pandurang Jadhav


Dr. Uttam Jadhav Dr. Uttam Jadhav is an accomplished academic who has extensive experience in both Read More academic administration and scholarship. As the Dean of Academics (Former) and the Director of the Centre for Advanced Learning and Teaching (CALT@SGU) at Sanjay Ghodawat University in Kolhapur, India, he has played a key role in shaping the university’s academic programs and ensuring their quality. He has also held several other administrative positions at the university, including serving as the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, a member of the Board of Management, Academic Council, Chairman of the Faculty of Arts, Chairman, Board of Studies in English and Humanities and Social Sciences, and a member of various committees such as the Board of Examination (BoE), Board of University Teaching and Research (BUTR), IQAC, Unfair Means Committee and the Anti-Ragging Committee, among others. In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Jadhav is a highly regarded scholar with a focus on gender and masculinity studies. He has published several research papers in national and international journals, exploring a range of topics, including the portrayal of masculinity in literature, the construction of masculinity in Indian Plays in English, and the impact of colonization on gender. His research has made important contributions to the field of gender studies. Dr. Jadhav is an outcome-oriented trainer and has trained more than 5000 teaching and support staff in the areas of Outcome Based Education, ICT in Education, Innovative Pedagogy, NEP 2020 Implementation, Effective Student Engagement in Learning, Open Educational Resources (OER), NAAC Accreditation, Designing Online Courses, Research Methodology, and Soft Skills. As a resource person and keynote speaker at these events, he has shared his expertise and insights with other educators and scholars. He has chaired sessions and was a keynote speaker at various conferences, such as the 16th International and 52nd Annual Conference on “Indian ELT: Imitative or Generative?”, National Conference on Vocational Education and National Education Policy 2020, the National Seminar on National Education Policy 2022, and the Understanding National Education Policy 2020 seminar. He has also served as an expert advisor for Sangmeshwar College, Solapur, for credit structure and examination patterns. Dr. Jadhav has been involved in designing a Disaster Management course co-created by Teesside University, UK, Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur, SRM University, Chennai, and Ajinkya D, Y, Patil University, Pune under the Going Global Grant of the British Council. He was a top performer in the Two-Week Faculty Development Programme on Mentoring Educators in Education Technology (FDP301X) conducted by IIT Bombay. Dr. Jadhav has also been involved in translating technical books, currently he is translating Effective Technical Communication Book under AICTE’s Technical Book Translation Scheme, reviewing self-learning materials for Bharti Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University’s School of Distance Education, and reviewing chapters for the Workbook on Communication Skills published by Oxford University Press India. In addition to his speaking engagements, Dr. Jadhav has contributed to academic journals as a reviewer for the Journal of Learning for Development published by Commonwealth of Learning, Canada. Dr. Uttam Jadhav has an impressive range of achievements in his academic and professional career. He worked as a translator with the BBC London for the series “Last Man Standing- Series II”. He has worked as a Chairman of NEP 2020 Implementation Committee at Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur. He has also worked as a member of the State-Level Nirmal Gram Inspection Committee and received the “Best Volunteer Certificate” of N.S.S. Dr. Jadhav has also written articles in newspapers and magazines. He is a member of academic and professional bodies such as English Language Teachers’ Association of India and Indian Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies. Dr. Jadhav has been involved in examination work and evaluation, serving as Director of the Central Assessment Process for Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He has also served as a paper setter and external examiner for Professional Skill Development and Communication Skills at various institutions. Dr. Jadhav has received several awards and recognitions for his contributions to teaching, pedagogy, research, and the development of his department and university. He was awarded the Outstanding Academic Award 2018 by Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur, and was considered for the International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms (R) Bangalore’s Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam National Award in 2018. He was also shortlisted for the Dr. Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement National Award given by the KRIST FOUNDATION(R), Dharwad, Karnataka in 2016. Overall, Dr. Uttam Jadhav’s extensive experience in academic administration, scholarship, and pedagogy make him an influential figure in the field of higher education. His contributions to research and education have been widely recognized, and he continues to play an important role in shaping the future of higher education in India and beyond.
