My Biography

Dr Nagaraj Sitaram has obtained Bachelor’s Degree More in Civil Engineering from Bhopal University in 1986, ME from NIE Mysore in Hydraulics and doctorate from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore in 1997.
Total 31-yrs of experience out of which 14-yrs in Government sector and 17-yrs in teaching
He began his career as a Trainee Engineer in GECON Indore (MP) on machine foundations
He has worked as a Research Engineer at Fluid Control Research Institute Palakkad, National Transportation Planning and Research Centre Thiruvananthapuram and MACT Bhopal (Now MANIT)
Worked as Professor, Head of the Department and Principal at various institutions. Currently working as Professor and Head in Department of Civil Engineering East Point College of Engineering Bengaluru
Achievements:
• He has received best paper award in HYDRO-22 at Punjab Engineering College Jalandhar
• He has received the UNICEF best paper award at MNIT Jaipur
• Completed 29-sponosred research projects (IGCAR , BHEL Bhopal, Jyoti Ltd Baroda, LRDE KPCL Bangalore, Karnataka urban water supply and drainage board, NPOL Kochi, King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, BRNS Mumbai and more)
• Delivered online classes for Fluid Mechanics and Strength of material subjects in VTU – Edusat classes
• He has guided 4-PhD students and 12 MTech students
• Life Member of 5-professional bodies
• Published more than 90-research papers in reputed journals and conferences

The isolation of NTM species from humans, Mycobacterium virginiense is the second time to be Read More isolated from Human sputum in the world and water,
Mycobacterium fortuitum highlighted that active and ex miners are at potential risks of acquiring pathogenic NTM from mining environment.
The study has reviewed that they are NTM circulating in the mining environment and humans (active and ex miners) in Zambia which are potential pathogenic in immune comprised individuals.
The identification of these Mycobacteria in clinical samples and environmental sources was important for both clinical and patient management, It will also help formulate policy change in understanding transmission factors that increase NTM transmission in mining
