My Biography

Xiaohe (Jessie) Jin is an international scholar, a More self-motivated learner, an enthusiastic communicator, and a results-driven scientist, as evidenced by her involvement in diverse research endeavors and seven peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Jessie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University. Her research interests span multiple disciplines, including chemistry, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Jin’s work on the microbiology of a cyanobacteria-dominant holobiont has significantly advanced the field and the work of Consequently, this work represents progress toward her larger goal of advancing the design of novel bioactive compounds, enzymes, and DNA-based lateral flow assays to improve chemoenzymatic methods of natural product development and create cost-effective infectious disease diagnostics.
Currently serving as a Scientist I at Atom Bioworks Inc. in Cary, NC, Jessie has been instrumental in designing a DNA biosensor-based lateral flow device targeting COVID-19. She has also synthesized lipid-nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems and conducted high throughput binding assays of DNA nanostructures using Surface Plasmon Resonance. With a robust academic background and extensive industry experience, she has made significant contributions to the development of diagnostics and drug delivery systems.
