My Biography

Dr. Upendra Baitha has been involved for the past More 15 years in patient care, teaching & research at various tertiary care centres after his MD (Medicine) degree. He joined as a SR in 2011; currently he is working as Additional Professor in the Dept. of Medicine, AIIMS, New Delhi. He is serving the patient care in IPD & OPDs, Special Clinics & Emergency services as well. He served immensely in management, care & support of COVID 19 patients during the pandemic and contributed to making of National Guideline as an Expert member of National guidelines of Dengue Case Management during COVID-19 pandemic, 2020, National guideline of Clinical Management of Dengue Fever,2023 and National guideline of Clinical Management of Chikungunia Fever, 2023. He has also been involved in UG, PG and DM academic courses & Teaching activities. The six PG students completed their thesis and four are doing under his direct guidance. He is doing research in field of Infectious Diseases and Metabolic & Obesity Disorders. He has completed three extramural projects as PI and two projects funded by ICMR & DHR are currently on-going. He has more than 70 publications in various journals and 4 chapters in the books. He served in various medical camps, writing article in magazine and Newspaper in different electronic media as part of community service. He is member of various Professional Societies. He has attended many conferences and presented oral and poster research paper.
