My Biography

M. Maniruzzaman, Professor in and former Chairman More of the Department of English at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, Vice President of English Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh (ETAB), former IELTS speaking examiner, IDP, Global Professional Member of TESOL International Association, and Associate Member of IATEFL, obtained MA in English Language and PhD in Applied Linguistics & ELT from the University of Dhaka, completed e-Teacher Methodology for TESOL at the University of Maryland BC, e-Teacher Assessment at the University of Oregon, e-Teacher Educational Technology at Iowa State University and ELT-LMCP offered by TESOL International Association, and attended PDW-2013 at the University of Oregon, USA. His core interests cover TESOL methodology, curriculum and syllabus design, materials development, assessment and testing, educational technology, L2 teacher education, ELT leadership and management, and literatures in English. He has 31 years teaching and research experience and a large number of publications including research papers in Scopus and WoS index journals, translations, book reviews, book chapters and books. He has conducted dozens of national and international workshops/webinars, delivered keynote and plenary speeches, presented papers, chaired sessions at and inaugurated a lot of national and international conferences, and given seminars both at home and abroad.

This work is crucial in mitigating the adverse health effects of poor air quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Second, I’ve been involved in water and wastewater treatment projects, aiming to develop more efficient and eco-friendly treatment methods. By optimizing these processes, we can ensure the availability of clean water resources while minimizing the environmental impact of wastewater discharge.
Furthermore, I’ve been actively engaged in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for various projects. These assessments are essential in identifying potential environmental risks and proposing mitigation measures, ultimately helping to strike a balance between development and conservation.
