My Biography

Dr. Priyank Purohit completed his M.S. (Pharm) and More PhD from NIPER Mohali under the guidance of Prof. A.K. Chakraborti. During his PhD, he was awarded the prestigious Pharm Innova Award for the most “Innovative Thesis” in the Ph.D. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) category, organized by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and L.M. College of Pharmacy. With 31 SCI-indexed research papers, including a publication in ACS Catalysis (IF 13), which was highlighted by Synfact, Dr. Purohit has made significant contributions to the field. His research has garnered 459 citations, with an h-index of 13 and a total impact factor of 60.3.
Dr. Purohit has seven years of teaching experience and six months of industrial experience as a research scientist at Piramal Drug Discovery. He has authored 13 research papers, 5 reviews, 2 books, 6 book chapters, and holds 7 patents, including one issued by NIPER Mohali. Recognized internationally, he received a DST travel grant for the Landon’s Tetrahedrane Conference and won the first prize at the International Patent Drafting Competition (IPDC) Awards 2018. In 2022, he was honored with the Distinguished Faculty Award by UCOST for outstanding contributions to research and academics. Currently, Dr. Purohit focuses on the synthesis of heterocycles and polymer chemistry.
