Project: Higher Education for Sustainable Development: Action Research
Goal: The project of Higher Education for Sustainable Development: Action Research has been collaboratively conducted by the teaching faculty of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar (144527) under the aegis of Institute for Environment Conservation Advocacy, Hyderabad (5000016). Under the project, Mr. Neeraj Virdi, Assistant Professor in Chemistry, of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar has presented on the topic of “Purifying Water: Advancing Clean Water & Sanitation Initiatives”, demonstrating his commitment to addressing water scarcity and sanitation challenges. The main objective of the project was the implementation of Root Zone Techonolgy for sustainable wastewater treatment, emphasizing its cost-effective and environmentally friendly nature. It highlights the benefits of this decentralized treatment approach, particularly in the context of green campus initiatives and community empowerment. The technology is showcased as a solution for enhancing water quality, promoting sustainability, and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals related to water and sanitation. Through the Root Zone Technology, effective treatment of wastewater is achieved without the need for extensive mechanical, electrical, or chemical equipment, making it a practical and efficient solution for various settings, including small towns, village resorts, and urban watershed management. The approach not only ensures high treatment standards but also contributes to water reuse and ecosystem preservation.

Madhusudhanrao Vallabhaneni

In our presents the studies related to the green synthesis of nano-HAP powders using wet-chemical Read More precipitation method with the use of different natural stabilizers at room temperature conditions. Nine natural stabilizers viz., Rice Water (RcW), Soya Milk (SM), Soya Leaves (SL), Spinach Leaves (SpL), Tea Decoction (TD), Tulsi Leaves (TL), Aloe vera (Alv), Gum Kondagogu (GKg) and Rose Petals (RP) have been used. Based on the results obtained in the present study on green chemistry synthesis of nano-HAP, after making several refinements to its synthesis (in terms of volume of Natural Stabilizer used, the type of Natural Stabilizer and temperature), the following recommendations are made for future studies.
In addition to its pH, Ca/P ratio, morphology and photoluminescence studies, its application is largely dependent on the chemical activity of the Natural Stabiliser used as a precursor. Essentially the changes made to the synthesis of nano-HAP using natural extracts as Natural Stabilisers need further studies on its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. After validating the results of its bioactivity and biocompatibility, an inference can be drawn about proposing it as a nano-HAP material for bone implant and dental filling materials. In the present study, in-vitro tests have been carried out using nano-HAP powders stabilised by Soya Milk, Rice Water, Soya Leaves and Spinach Leaves. In near future, the in-vivo study is recommended to look for the toxicity and possible side effects in living beings.

Dharma Raj Kandel

I am PhD scholar at Jeonbuk National University, South Korea. My field of research is adsorption and Read More membrane filtration of organic pollutants and heavy metals. These days, our team is focusing on the use of natural waste for the alleviation of effect of pollutants. Also, we are examining the difference in the performance of adsorbent and membranes after the incorporation of nanoparticles (e.g; MOF). We believe in the cost effective works in the research and doing as such.

Pefela Gildas Nyugha

Justice is a service open to the public. It is thus arranged, like any structure that renders public Read More service, in a manner that whoever seeks for it receives appropriate attention. The setting up and organization of judicial institutions is premised on the fore said. The classification of the judicial system in Cameroon is shrouded with a bleak and opaque view that one tends to ponder on the clear cut strata for the administration of justice in Cameroon. Litigants sometimes find difficulties in identifying which court is competent to handle their matters in the face of complaints. More so, the fact that certain courts preclude the ordinary man from bringing an action makes the whole scenario more cumbersome for a common man to comprehend. Judicial and administrative authorities need to be guided on the nature of cases entertained as well as be acquainted with the competent courts to seize for such matters. The paper I am working on tackles these issues.
